Malaysian government delegation visited DGFEZ

Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) with five other Malaysian institutions visited Daegu-Gyeongbuk Free Economic Zone (Commissioner: Choi Sam Ryong, DGFEZ) Authority to benchmark advanced Korean industrial complex and to establish investment attraction networks on July 27, 2022.
The purpose of this visit was to establish networks and cooperation with foreign institutions that had been contracted by COVID-19. It included a visit to DGFEZ's office and a tour to major facilities of Technopolis.
Ms Zabidah Daud from MIDA as the representative of the delegation, the persons from SEPU, PIMC, KTPC, MRCB, and MIDA Korea Desk visited DGFEZ's office and had time to ask and answer questions regarding DGFEZ development and investment attraction, to introduce each institution and to network with one another.
Moreover, a tour to Technopolis included visits to Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science & Technology (DGIST) and Daegu National Science Museum, as well as an explanation of the industrial clusters of DGFEZ and their development situations which resulted in the improvement of understanding in terms of DGFEZ development and investment attraction. Malaysian government delegation showed its willingness to consistently discover joint projects to attract mutual investment and open new markets through actively interacting with the companies within Malaysian industrial complex and the tenant companies within DGFEZ.
Commissioner of DGFEZ, said, “Such a big-scale delegation visited DGFEZ for the first time in a long while since the COVID-19 pandemic. I am pleased that business cooperation with Southeast Asian countries has been resumed. The Authority will make active efforts to communicate and cooperate with Malaysian governmental institutions so that local companies can expand to Southeast Asia. Also, we will consistently conduct investment promotion activities so that Malaysian governmental funds can be attracted to local companies.”
